I've always loved geometry.
In school, I liked the orderliness and rationality of geometry; I made up personalities for each of the different shapes. The square was the zen master -- he could not be dissuaded from perfection. HIs pupil was the triangle, all acute angles and with a tendency to skew. But the triangle was misunderstood. He could help you calculate areas and be a building block for structures; if drawn correctly, his strength was infallible.
In art, I'm often attracted to geometric shapes. I find that even when doodling, I tend to draw repeated shapes in different sizes. Here are a series of pieces in which I made geometry the focus.
